This is an intermediate to advanced level, one day, intensive class intended for aspiring pros and professionals alike. Color management from capture through print making, with emphasis on output will be the focus of the class. Epson Printers will be on hand as well as a range of pro-level color management gear from Datacolor. Our goal is to enable students to create fine art prints for sale exhibition, or gallery use, using a variety of media types including photographic, watercolor/fine art and canvas.

  • ”Getting It Right In Camera” – lighting, camera profiling, and color controls
  • Evaluating image files prior to processing and printing
  • Digital studio and desktop setup – display calibration, hardware, and software
  • Processing and editing images to maximize quality and artistic impact
  • Selecting media types for image quality and display characteristics
  • Evaluating your prints for color and quality
  • Printer calibration, image/print correction and trouble shooting
  • Making fine art prints for other photographers
  • Fine art reproduction

We will provide live demonstrations of the major building blocks of color management and fine art print making workflow. Session will also include hands-on printmaking and evaluation. Students will leave the class with two 16X20 prints. Students may bring a laptop, but it is not required.
